What is infertility?

For the next 8 weeks, commencing today, Cambridge IVF will be featuring in the Health Supplement for Cambridge News.

For the first week we wanted to focus on what is infertility, when to seek help and who to turn to.

We are all aware that struggling to conceive can be an emotional experience. Around one in seven couples may have difficulty conceiving. This is approximately 3.5 million people in the UK.

Infertility is a term often heard but how many of us actually know what it is?  And if you’re trying unsuccessfully for a baby how do you know when failing to conceive becomes an issue that you should seek help for?  Cambridge IVF's Dr. Alka Prakash, lead consultant in reproductive medicine and surgery, talks about infertility giving a step by step guide.

Our lovely fertility nurse speacialist Jennie Rollason, is also featured in the Health Supplement, answering your frequently asked questions.
