New technology keeps samples safe at CIVF

Cambridge IVF has installed state-of-the-art technology to monitor critical laboratory work for fertility patients.

It is the first facility in the east of England to adopt the RI Witness system – a robust identification procedure that is designed to eliminate the risk of lab errors.

Using wireless radio frequency tagging, a patient’s identity is locked to individual laboratory culture dishes at every stage of treatment. The system actively prevents sperm, eggs, or embryos coming into proximity with samples from other patients. It is completely safe.
