Gabby Logan opens Cambridge IVF

Gabby Logan, TV presenter and broadcaster made the official opening of Cambridge IVF a very special occasion for staff on Monday 14 May.

Mr Raj Mathur, Cambridge IVF’s lead clinician, welcomed Gabby, who had her seven-year-old twins by IVF treatment, saying it was “a red letter day for the team and we are delighted that Gabby is here.” Gabby unveiled a plaque at the celebration hosted by chairman Dr Mary Archer and attended by staff, patients and other NHS colleagues. She gave a very warm speech about her own experience of IVF and then chatted with staff from the unit and posed for pictures before being interviewed by the local media.

Opened to patients in September, Cambridge IVF is a purpose-built assisted conception unit offering high-quality, personalised care based on the very latest science and research.

In his speech at the offical opening, Mr Raj Mathur praised the Cambridge IVF staff: “I am proud to have a dedicated and caring team who really do put their patients first. They are the most valuable asset we have in this service. Cambridge IVF is now unrivalled as the only NHS comprehensive assisted conception unit in the region, and its establishment builds on 20 years of experience. The wide clinical expertise of our team, matched with our state-of-the-art equipment and facilities and links with Addenbrooke’s, Cambridge University and the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, means that we can offer the very best care and treatment.”
