Cambridge IVF event at The Grafton

More couples in the East of England can now get NHS-funded fertility treatment after Cambridge IVF signed a major contract with Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London. NHS patients in the region - and those in the East Midlands - can now benefit from accessing the first-class, all-round fertility treatment at the only NHS-run IVF facility in the East of England. Although IVF is right for some couples it is only one of the fertility treatments, and comes almost at the end of the process when women are trying for a baby. Cambridge IVF, part of Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH), is one of the few centres that can provide all other fertility services, including surgery for endometriosis and hormonal treatment, as well as IVF.
Since opening in 2011, the centre has helped many couples to have the baby they have struggled so hard to conceive. Dr Alka Prakash, Cambridge IVF lead consultant, said: "We are really pleased that Cambridge IVF is now able to help more couples have children on the NHS. Infertility is a big issue, with around one in seven couples in the UK today trying to conceive.
