Alka joined Cambridge IVF in 2011, bringing with her over five years of experience in reproductive medicine and surgery. She trained at the University of Sheffield and Cambridge University Hospitals, following which she worked as a consultant at the Newcastle Fertility Centre at Life.

Alka’s specialist area of interest is the role of endometrium in pregnancy and implantation failure. As well as her training in sub-fertility, endocrinology and reproductive surgery, Alka is also a BFS (British Fertility Society) accredited trainer for:

Alka says: “I follow the basic NHS principle, ‘no decision about you without you’. I like to involve and inform you in choosing the best available treatment. I am pleased to be working in a unit with a strong ethos of providing high quality care and one which is able to treat you with complex issues."

"The proximity of Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie means that we can look after all aspects of your care. The link with CUH also means that I can pursue my research into the role of the endometrium, which I hope will help answer many more questions about this relatively unknown area.”
